Learning about environmental law needn't be a chore, as this course will demonstrate.  We will explain Environment Law relevant to your business in clear, jargon-free terms, including how to comply with the most common environmental legislation in the UK.

This course is for directors and senior managers who need to be aware of applicable environmental laws, and what they mean for your organisation.

Content

We will discuss environmental law related to:

    1. Waste legislation (duty of care, hazardous waste consignment, licensing, etc)
    2. Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations
    3. Permitting Regulations (NEW - April 2008)
    4. REACH Regulations (NEW - 2007)
    5. Effluent discharge (to surface and foul water systems)
    6. Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) regime
    7. Contaminated land regime
    8. Statutory nuisance (noise, odour, etc)
    9. Oil storage (secondary containment requirements)

Workshops and case studies will help to reinforce understanding of key legal requirements and provide realistic experience of the practical measures needed to demonstrate 'duty of care', to classify hazardous waste, and to comply with licences, consents and permits.
